Soly and Enphase Energy launch 15 year ‘Battery as a Service’ in the Netherlands
Affordable, all-inclusive home battery rental now available via certified Enphase installers.
Amsterdam, September 24 2025 – Soly today announces the launch of its 15-year ‘Battery as a Service’ proposition in collaboration with Enphase Energy, a global energy technology company and the world’s leading supplier of microinverter-based solar and battery systems. With this new service, households can now get an Enphase battery with no large upfront cost, paying instead a simple fixed monthly fee. The plan includes full insurance and Enphase Care for ongoing operations and maintenance support, all financed by Soly. The service will be delivered through existing Enphase-certified installers, ensuring high-quality installation and seamless integration with Enphase technology. Customers can rent an IQ Battery with flexible capacity options, making energy storage more accessible than ever.
By adding an Enphase battery, homeowners can immediately avoid feed-in fees and low export compensation by storing excess solar power, instead of sending it back to the grid. The service also future-proofs homes as net energy metering in the Netherlands is phased out, enabling greater self-consumption and less reliance on grid power. In addition, Enphase batteries are designed to participate in current and future virtual power plants (VPP), creating new opportunities for customers to unlock more value from their energy system.
Marco Krapels, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Enphase Energy, said: “By combining Enphase’s market-leading battery technology with Soly’s innovative subscription model, we’re making enhanced energy independence an option for millions of households in the Netherlands. This partnership gives customers a tool to avoid feed-in fees now, future proof their homes against changes to energy prices, and a pathway to maximize their home energy value with VPP programs. Enphase and Soly are offering peace of mind and a long-term solution that is fully managed and hassle-free.”
Patrick van der Meulen, CEO of Soly, added: “We see enormous demand for affordable battery solutions as the net metering scheme ends on January 1, 2027. By partnering with Enphase and their certified installers, we can offer a complete, transparent, and scalable solution that helps accelerate the energy transition.”
Installers maintain full customer contact and manage the installation, Soly handles the financing and service, and Enphase provides the hardware and software with the 15-year Enphase Care.
With millions of Dutch households expected to require a battery solution in the coming years, the collaboration aims to unlock a multi-billion-euro market while making the energy transition more accessible and affordable.
